Teaching
My teaching philosophy centers on the Bantu principle of Ubuntu: “I am because we are.” Teachers and students are all learners; we work together to create a fulfilling learning experience.
My teaching experiences range from public high schools and middle schools to dance instruction at private summer camps for elementary-age students. I also facilitate professional development workshops for educators. I am certified in New York State, and I have completed the Dance Education Laboratory basics training. I hold an M.S. in TESOL from City College and an M.A. in Arts Entrepreneurship from Purchase College. I graduated from Hamilton College with honors and a degree in International Communication and Media Studies. I completed the Hollyhock Fellowship at Stanford University in June 2024, the National Endowment for the Humanities Grant in July 2024, and I am a PhD candidate in Culture, Curriculum, and Teacher Education at UNC Chapel Hill.
I work with other educators at schools, museums, and community-based organizations to facilitate youth-led activities and events. Please reach out HERE regarding consultation and collaboration.
